Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge

Today I visited TRNWR for the first time. Here is a list of the birds I saw:
Canada Goose
Mallard Duck
Great Blue Heron
Turkey Vulture
Osprey
Bald Eagle
Killdeer
Sandpiper (was it Spotted, Laura?)
Mourning Dove
Red-Breasted Sapsucker (a pair with a nest)
Stellar's Jay
Scrub Jay

Tree Swallow
Violet Green Swallow
Other Swallows (?)
Black-Capped Chickadee (with nest)
Chestnut-Backed Chickadee
Brown Creeper
Swainson's Thrush
American Robin, juv.
Cedar Waxwing

Spotted Towhee

Next time I am going to take my photographer and post some cool pictures!

  1. Yep, it was a spottie.....and the only bird you missed was the Black-throated Gray WArbler...was I the only one who actually saw it? it was the one that fluttered down to the ground and looked like a chickadee for a sec.
    Great day! Richard will love photographing that place.
