  2. ...ohh...a tiny little owl! How on earth did you see him? Did you hear him? Very good eye!
Ohhh....I just read Heather's comment. Yikes....I would never have even guessed kitten. I wonder how he got up there? He must be a very good pole shimmier-upper!

  3. Oh geesh Kelly, I didn't even think about an owl! Now you've got me second-guessing myself, but I'm sticking with cat due to the body shape. Michele, don't leave us hanging for too long!

  5. Looks like an owl to me, too. Too small for a cat, and and the pole is too slick.

  6. I never occurred to me that anyone would think that was a cat (grin)! It is a Great Horned Owl. We were heading over to the store and Mr. Nut saw it fly to the burnt out lamp post. I yelled "go get the camera and binoculars out of the car!!" then I realized I had the little camera in my purse and I took a few quick photos before it flew low across the parking lot and landed on another lamp post across the street. Very cool!

  7. Dang, I so wanted that to be a cat (even though it makes NO sense that a cat could climb up a pole like that)! What can I say Michele, my brain don't work like that of the average bear...! ;)

  9. Is that an owl? That is very cool! I think that has to be the only creature I haven't found out here in the woods in northern New England yet.

  10. When I was a little girl that's how I saw my very first great horned owl. My dad had me cover the glare from the street lamp with my thumb so I could see the silhouette of the owl. Nice spotting, and how cool you even got pictures!
