Everything is Going to Seed

I love to see all the seeds of autumn. I like to collect acorns, pine cones, and seed pods to lay around the house. They are one of my favorite things in nature to admire. I currently have various seed pods in a tray on the dining room table to admire. Nature sure provides a great variety of colors, shapes and textures.

The dogwood "berries" look good enough to eat. Some crows sure thought so. They were making a raucous over them.

I wish I remember what pine this was. I love love love the texture on this immature cone.

The hemlock had the sweetest cones ever. So cute and in dainty clusters.

Hoyt Arboretum has oodles of cones and pods to admire.

  2. These are all just fantastic! Not only are the nuts, seeds and pinecones beautiful things to look at, but they are fun to hold in your hand and get a good feel for their textures.
