Hiking Cooper Mountain

Sunday we visited Cooper Mountain Nature Park and hiked around. The bird activity was disappointing, but it was a nice walk.

There are a lot of Madrone (Arbutus menziesii) trees on Cooper Mountain and their bark is just spectacular. This was my sunshine on a cloudy day.

We saw these fallen trees that had beautiful burls.

There was some lovely fungi too. Check out that extra yellow slimy one!

The previous post is a photo of a Madrone tree taken at Copper Mountain. I know, it was scandalous! I enjoyed all of your comments!

  1. You made me miss Oregon. I've hiked Copper Mountain a couple of years ago when I was temporarily located in Oregon for work. Your photos and narrative take me back and make me long to visit Oregon again.

I really loved the burled wood and fungi photos. Thanks for sharing!
