The garden seemed smaller than I remembered, but definitely more mature than before.
It was an overcast day, but one of the driest we have had in a while. In fact, we only had a moment of drizzle.
Slugs are very "Oregon."
Culinary sage and Halimium 'Sarah'.
The bees were out even in the cloudy weather. They seem to love this shrub. Labelled as Hairy Canary Flower, I can't find a Latin name.
In the rose garden, roses and peonies on an old lichen covered trellis.
This chickadee house had baby chickadees in it. It was mounted low enough that I could put my ear up to it and hear the peeps. Mama and Papa chickadee were busy coming and going with food.
Yep, this is a Northwest Garden. Look how good the moss is growing.

I've heard about this garden for years but have never been. Last I read on it, it seemed unfinished and a little disappointing, but your pictures make it look quite lovely.

ReplyDeleteI always loved moss! The only real place it grows at our house is on the stairs (not so good). Your area of the country is so beautiful. I'll have to get up that way some day!
