Steigerwald NWR- Part 1

On Monday we birded Steigerwald. I've only been there a couple of times, so it was fun to visit again. The day started cloudy, but warm and we had nice weather (unusual around here these days!).






Right off the bat I noticed all the wildflowers blooming when we drove in. Daisies, lupine, spirea, foxglove, and more.





The mushrooms growing out of this snag were incredible!







This is just a taste of our morning....part 2 will feature some noisy baby birds and their flashy parents.

    Each of these photos is a gem! I love the first one and the last one...and all the ones in between! Neat mushrooms! Beautiful flowers.
