Crochet Fun

I have been busy crocheting lately. I have decided that it is the yarn craft for me! I have been really into this Granny Stripe baby blanket I am making for a friend. I am inpired by Lucy's happy little blog: Attic 24. She has a great tutorial for this and other fun crochet projects...and a flickr group to explore that will make you never want to leave the house!

I am loving the creation of this sea of blue!

I am still working on my granny square blanket, but somewhere along the way I got derailed and inspired to create a few other crochet items.

This just came to me one evening and I got obsessed with making it:

Now I know this might be off the deep end, but I smile everytime I come home and I like to think my letter carrier smiles when he leaves me mail. Or he thinks a crazy lady lives here.

I found the above pattern on a free sheet from the craft store. I have no idea what to do with it, but it was fun to make and I got to try out some new stitches.

And watermelons are always nice for a bit of summer cheer. Also, just collecting dust on the kitchen counter, but I like the cheerulness. This pattern can be found here.

Are you doing summer crafts?

  3. I'm going to have to make one of those granny stripes blankets. Love the blues you are using. Nearly done with a baby blanket so I can start something new. :)
