Rufous Hummingbirds

These days my garden is popular with the hummingbirds. The Rufous moved in over the last few weeks and they are very territorial. There are a number of "zones" and they fiercely guard their zones!

I enjoy them while I can because soon they'll be gone south till March. I rarely see a Rufous Hummingbird after Labor Day.

We are fortuante in these part though, the Anna's Hummingbird stays here all winter. Sadly I haven't seen any in a while because the Rufous have driven them away....but they will be back!
