Snowy Morning

Yesterday morning I woke up to this....

We don't get much snow, so I had to take a few photos.

Nina went out, but came right back to the door for me to let her back in. Too cold for an old dog.

The birds were lined up at the suet feeders. Can you see the three Northern Flickers?

And here is a little quiz for you. Do you know who this bird is? (Answer at the end of the post):

The Downy Woodpecker showed up. He was not as pushy as some birds and hopped around impatiently waiting for a chance to get to the suet too.

Red-breasted Nuthatch on one side, Northern Flicker on the other with the Downy Woodpecker waiting in line.

And waiting....

and waiting.

Mourning Dove

"Snow Birds" and look who is in the background! I have had a Fox Sparrow visiting all winter.

Finally the answer to the quiz. That was a perky tail of the Bewick's Wren.

The snow all melted by 10am, but it was fun while it lasted!

  2. Nice pictures. That wren sure looks like it's giving you the evil eye, though. :-)

  5. You had much more snow sticking to the ground than I did... And three times as many flickers! How awesome that you've had a Fox Sparrow... I'm lucky to see one or two House Sparrows, haha...
