Vacation:::Day 2

'Morning Frog', blowing bubbles?

On my way to visit my grandpa I stopped at Salish Ponds in Fairview. I don't think I'd go out of my way to visit this area again, but since I was in the neighborhood I thought I'd check it out. To sum it up: trash + airplane noise + high tension wires. Of course, I only took photos of the pretty things.

I was greeted by this Black-headed Grosbeak at the parking lot.

After having lunch with my grandpa, he drove me to this trail outside of Welches. This is a short car ride from his house and was a perfect afternoon walk.

Proof that we are in Oregon woods:

Lush Oregon forests:

Devil's Walking Stick in black and white so you can see the thorniness:

When I got home I planted a few things including this experimental purchase. I've been joking that I might get a whole thimble full of hummus with this garbanzo bean plant!

Believe it or not, I found a few minutes to sit in my lounge chair this evening:

  1. Oh, everything just looks SO lovely.

    I envy your garlic harvest. I should be doing a small one soon. I dreamt about it last night, probably because I'm thinking about it so much. :)

  2. Oh I do miss the lush forest of the coastal Northwest. I am just on the other side of the Cascades where it is a bit dryer. But I do not miss those slugs. Your no gravity chair reminds me I have to get one for at my home here in BC. The only chair that I am truly comfortable in and could sit and relax. Problem here is I would just sit then see something I need to get up and do right away or I will forget it. Enjoyed your lovely outing.
