Scenes from Graham Oaks

I visited Graham Oaks Nature Park the other day. It wasn't very bird-y, but I did see lots of swallows and goldfinches.

There are a lot of open fields that have been planted as oak savannah. Part of the trail is open for dogs and next time I might bring Maggie.

I've been inspired by two blogs that show a special part of nature and photography:
Resurrection Fern: http://resurrectionfern.typepad.com/resurrection_fern/
Cozy Homemaking: http://cozyhomemaking.typepad.com/blog/

Since I didn't see much to photograph, I tried to look closer and see what I could find. I don't have a macro lens, but I was able to get close to some things and crop them to give them that macro feel. I think I need a macro lens, don't you?

  1. Swallows are always a lovely sight. Beautiful shots--so many autumn-esque golds & browns! I went to Forest Park the other day and saw SO many little pacific wrens bobbing about. What a treat!

  3. hi !
I noticed your blog when checking my blog stats, and I'm glad I did. Your photos are lovely, really, and a macro lens just would be the cherry on top. If you don't have a "vision", you can have a macro lens & it won't make a difference. Do you see what I mean ?
Thank you for mentionning me and my best friend. I couldn't be happier to see our names side by side ! :)

  4. you have such an amazing eye for detail that your present lens is capturing.
The most expensive camera in the world can never replace that.
