Birdathon 2012- Steigerwald NWR

Good people, good weather, 53 good birds.

It started out cool with a few clouds that quickly burned off.



The elusive American Bittern





An Osprey pair where busy nest building and calling to each other.













Last year there was a lot of Osprey action too.


My favorite bird of the day: Western Kingbird

Purple Martins



It's a beautiful refuge.

      Thank you! I have a Canon EOS 40D. I usually use a 75-300mm lens (all the photos in this post were taken with that).
