Sandy River Delta

I was worried when I arrived at Sandy River Delta this morning. The lot was full of cars and I know this is an off leash dog park. Fortunately, the park is big and I didn't encounter very many people. It was very bird-y and I was happy to see some of the birds I had hoped for.

This was what I was wanting to see.
A gorgeous Lazuli Bunting male.

But this guy stole the show for me.

Bullock's Oriole

I think this is a Common Yellowthroat female?

I have never heard so many 'fitz bew's before!
Willow Flycatchers were perched all over the place.

Lupine and Wild Roses - a pleasing combo.

Viburnum

Verbascum
Afterwards, I drove over to Steigerwald NWR. I'll post some photos of that next time.

  3. What a great place for birding, I love the Lazuli Bunting and the flowers are gorgeous. I hope to visit this spot in July during my trip, can you keep the Lazuli Bunting there for me please? Wonderful photos and post. Happy birding!

  4. Glad you had a successful trip there! It's funny how you can see a million cars when you get there, but then see only a few people on the trails. Awesome oriole shots!
