It was more about insects than birds today. I saw very few birds. Of course as soon as I saw a "good" bird (the Green Heron), a Pileated Woodpecker called and flew right behind me. I couldn't see where it went, but I kept hearing it calling. Is it just me or does it always happen that all the action goes at once!
The Preying Mantis was on the path and I nearly stepped on him. He quickly crawled to the grass where he was very well camouflaged. A very fun sighting!
Wow! Love the mantis. I can feel the warmth of the day's end in your photos.
ReplyDeleteLove the scenery shots. And, of course, the green heron! Always a good find.
