The suet feeder was empty this morning (gasp), but this Northern Flicker found some other tasty treats. Not sure if she is after the apple or the bugs in it!
My suet was empty last night too but I have suspect jays that raid it so I'll move it and fill again tonight. We don't have any pretty apples like you do to help out.
Ha, I would not expect a flicker to snack on an apple- very cool! I refuse to have fruit trees after house-sitting for my friends for a month who had a pear tree. The dogs kept bringing them inside to rot in hidden places. Hopefully Maggie does not offer you such treats.
