This is a great park for wintering waterfowl. It's also a great place to walk Maggie. I don't usually take my camera because it's hard to juggle with a dog lunging at ducks.
Kinglets were having a party in this tree:::

I *love* nature. This Golden-crowned Kinglet has a crown just like the remaining leaves. |
Back at home:::
KINGFISHER. KINGFISHER. KINGFISHER. Wahhhh
ReplyDeleteRobin, o Robin...when you do finally see a Kingfisher then they will suddenly be everywhere you go. Savor this time, for it will never come again...or just stomp your feet and throw a tantrum until you find one...that might work too.
DeleteSend her to Whitaker Ponds!
DeleteRing-necked Ducks are hard to beat. I love them because they are a symphony of black, white and gray with just a dash of a yellow eye. And they are just so perky and alert. Yeah, because they might suddenly be lunch for a Peregrine...
ReplyDeleteYes! Ha ha! I hope Jen sees this comment.
DeleteHaha, not alert enough!!
DeleteAwesome photos ! I have been able to train my Miggs to sit and stay still so I can take her on photo shoots with me . I love having her along she keeps me company in the woods and I think she thinks every time she sits I am photographing her as she does love the camera , that's a plus lol . Have a great day !
ReplyDeleteI love the White-fronted Geese that are hanging out there. We saw them on Thanksgiving.
