The Dead of Winter

If you come to this blog for pretty flower and bird photos, you won't want to view this post. Warning- dead stuff follows.

At Jackson Bottoms today there was a lot of death. Dead plants, dead animals, and feather indicating dead birds. I was fascinated though. And look at all those owl pellets! What do you think the first dead animal is? Long tail, but that's all that was left. The last photo looks like a nutria.

  1. Funny I've only been to Jackson Bottoms a few times, but I remember the first time there I found a dead nutria. Gnarly. That first feather looks Barn Owl-y- awesome!
