The other day I saw two Steller's Jays in the garden so I put out some filberts for them. Usually the Scrub Jays run them off, but this time the two pairs shared. I watched a Steller's choke down five filberts at once. Robins have been around in higher numbers and a Mallard pair have been hanging out by the pond (when Maggie allows it).
OOh I love Steller's Jays- do they get super loud in the yard? Sweet bird bath, that's on my list of things to get this weekend.
