Cooper Mountain Nature Park

This Red-breasted Nuthatch caught my eye and I stopped to watch it go to it's nest cavity. It was bringing food in for the babies. While waiting I noticed a House Wren using a hole further down the snag. The wrens were much more active and entertaining.

My sources indicate this is probably a Western Wood-Pewee? It too was either feeding young or still nest building. I couldn't see anything moving in the nest.

Lots of bird action. I got there around 8:30am and it got progressively quieter. Probably getting there at 7am would be even better.

  1. So many goodies! Love the bunny and the ladybug and the wren in the nest hole, and well pretty much everything. I forget about that place, I need to get back!
