Dawn at Sandy River Delta

I bet the bunnies know to get out early and hide after sunrise. Dogs, dogs everywhere.

The electrical towers were a popular place for the woodpeckers. I didn't even realize there were two Northern Flickers in the above photo till I got home.

Anna's and Rufous were fighting over a big patch of fireweed. The most bird action was out by the powerlines. I didn't know where to focus: Bullock's Oriole, Yellow-breasted Chat, Rufous Hummingbird, Anna's Hummingbird, Black-headed Grosbeak, Common Yellowthroat, American Goldfinch, Northern Flicker, and Red-breasted Sapsucker were all present.

My new favorite bird. He was so vocal and put on a good show.

Saw this bird fly to a nest. Willow Flycatcher?

And an Instagram photo of the sunrise that I really liked:

  2. Oh man I need to get out there this weekend- your chat photo has me sold. Any kingbirds? Awesome shots of the caterpillars with the moths- I assume they are the same? So cool!
