Weekend Snapshots

Macro shots of mushrooms from my parent's forest--

Ridgefield today--
Pure luck on finding this needle in a haystack. I was scanning for a blue bird I saw fly into this area. Was it a jay or a kingfisher? Instead I find this guy perched in the full sun. Can you even see him in this photo? (Great-horned Owl) Too bad this was the best I could do with my camera. He was WAY out there in the wetlands. Oh and the blue bird was a jay. I guess it paid off to look for that silly jay.

One frog...

Two frog.... Three frog... (after publishing this post I see a third!)
Even if the photo opps were slim, at least the frogs pose nicely for me.

I think this is the first time I have seen meadowlark at Ridgefield!
Good day- 55 species between the River "S" Unit and the Carty Unit. Not that I'm becoming a lister or anything.
